“Steady progress has been made in the National Scholarships Review during the past four years, which fosters the academic and personal growth of postgraduate students,” President Hu said. He warmly congratulated the 228 recipients and said he hoped they would guard against arrogance and rashness, thus improving their academic performance and growing more as people.

Luo announced the scholarship winners’ names. He congratulated them on their achievements and said he expected them to continue to achieve greater success.

Zhu Ning, a final-year Ph.D. student in political economy from the School of Economics, gave an acceptance speech on behalf of the students. He thanked the university, his teachers and classmates for their help and support, adding that he would keep working hard and try to make a breakthrough in his scientific research projects.
