Jinan University’s program of Establishing a High-level University has produced strong results, with its materials science ranking in the top 1% among all the international universities and institutions, according to the Essential Science Indicator (ESI) released on May 26. Materials science became JNU’s fifth discipline to reach the top 1% in ESI, following chemistry, clinical medicine, engineering science, and pharmacology and toxicology.
ESI statistics shows JNU ranks 1,299th among the 5,002 research institutions in the top 1% of ESI rankings. A total of 7,320 papers from JNU have been indexed in the last 10 years in all ESI disciplines, with 48,977 citations and 38 highly cited papers.
